About

I didn't take a traditional path. I grew up in a religious cult that didn't believe in education beyond reading, writing, and arithmetic. I could quote more than half the Bible from memory but had no idea the periodic table of elements existed.

I escaped when I was 18 and put myself through college working as a computer technician, an accountant's assistant, and a junior QA engineer at an LA startup for $10 an hour. After graduating I joined SAP, where I traveled the world helping troubled implementations get back on track. In 2013, MBA from Johns Hopkins in hand, I founded CredSimple — the first cloud-based credentialing verification organization — and grew it into the largest cloud-based CVO in the country.

In 2023 I read Walker Deibel's Buy Then Buildand started doing exactly that. My approach is hands-on: walk in, assess every department, install an operating system, execute the turnaround. My portfolio today includes Exclusion Screening, where I'm CEO, and Plug in Useful, a Shopify SEO platform. I also sit on the board of Andros and advise Harmonyze.

If you're an investment firm looking for an operating partner, or a company looking for a board member with deep product and engineering experience, I'd like to hear from you.
